Administrative fees

All fees are paid to the MOI CR using stamps (kolek) at a specific value that can be purchased at any post office. Cash payments are only possible when obtaining a counterpart, duplicate, copy, photocopy or an extract from a file on a foreign national. In other cases, due to anti-corruption measures, it is not possible to pay in cash or by banking card at an MOI office.

If at the same time required to perform multiple actions in a single negotiation, which are subject to different administrative fees (under to different tariff headings) eg. the extension of validity of a permanent residence permit and a change of place of residence, the fee is then charged per each action (2 500,- CZK + 1 000,- CZK), already at receiving application for such a change.

The MOI CR carries out a number of tasks on the spot, the assumption being that at the given moment all of the necessary requirements are available and the office’s technical and staff capacity allows this.

At this link you can find the list of administrative fees:

Residence permit extension

An application of permit or of extension validity of long term residence in the Czech Republic you are generally obligated to submit soon enough 120 days before end of validity of existing permit to long term residence or long term visa and at the latest day of validity of visa or residence permit.

If the last day of validity of long term visa or long term residence permit is public holiday (Saturday, Sunday, holiday), the last day you are able to submit an application is nearest following working day. In case when the deadline is on working day, which is not official day (Friday), it is possible to deliver an application of extension validity of long term residence permit by Post Office at the last day of this term. It does not apply for applications, which you have to submit personally (an application of edition of long term residence permit, an application of “change of purpose” for long term residence permit), this application has to be delivered to the Ministry of Interior at the last day of term. In case that such an application is personally confirmed to 5 days, it can be delivered to the Ministry of Interior at the last day of term by email, fax, to online data storage of the Ministry of Interior. Fact that the last day of term is unofficial day, cannot be considered for reason independent of the will, which obstrucs to the foreigner to submit an application. For this reason we ask you to submit an applications with time-ahead.

Ending and revoking a residence permit and leaving the CR

The Ministry of the Interior of the CR may revoke the validity of a visa for more than 90 days in the case of foreigners committing appropriate matters.

Termination of research work on the territory of the CR must be reported by the research organization (UPOL) immediately. The residence permit card must be returned, BUT it will suffice if it is returned after leaving the CR. This means that it is possible to travel to this valid card from the Czech Republic and return it by post from abroad.

As soon as the authority decides on granting the application, it will send a letter to the foreigner to the address in the CR, stating when he must leave the Czech Republic. However, this procedure varies in length and it is not possible to say exactly how long the foreigner will wait for a letter with further instructions.
