Bio

Sergei Ivanov Ph.D. graduated from the Far Eastern Federal University (Russia, Vladivostok) and obtained his PhD at the Irkutsk State University (Russia, Irkutsk). He began China research at the Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnography FEB RAS and taught a variety of courses on China and East Asia in the university. His research interests cover Chinese entrepreneurship in the Russian borderlands, bureaucratic involvement in Sino-Russian cross-border cooperation, and regional development strategies in East Asia. Sergei joined Sinophone Borderlands at Palacký University in December 2019 to contribute to research on Chinese peasants in Russia’s Far East and Sino-Russian cross-border material culture.
