Abstract:

The rise of China is the most important development in the Asia-Pacific region in recent times – possibly ever. Whatever China’s leaders do and however its economy performs, it will have global ramifications. This seminar looks at some of these possibilities in a region in which the United States has been the hegemonic power for more than half a century.
