Bio
Mgr. Renata Sedlakova Ph.D. is a media sociologist and researcher. She focuses on analyzing the representation of minority groups (eg seniors, ethnic and religious minorities, etc.) in the media – news discourse (news and current affairs programmes) maily. She participates in research projects of public service media – Czech Radio and Czech Television and cooperates with their councils. Her area of expertise is also the methodology of social sciences and innovative research methodologies. As a sociologist, she is interested in the life trajectories of individuals in the current changing society of late modernity. In the project Sinophone Borderlands – Interaction at the Edges she conducts a survey in Central and South Asia. She works as a consultant on a number of implementation projects, e.g. the iniciative of the age-friendly cities in the CR.
